Latvian Association of Beauticians and Cosmetologists

Latvian Association of Beauticians and Cosmetologists( LKKA) was founded in 1995. 19. in february. The aim and tasks of the Association:

• to perform the regulatory work of the cosmetics profession, in co-operation with the relevant state institutions;
• to create and develop a system of professional education and qualification improvement of a beautician;
• to get involved in the activities of related international and national associations of beauty therapists;
• to carry out, if necessary, the professional and legal protection of its members.

• The association is valued by companies in the industry, widely represented by professionals( more than 600 members) stable public organization.
• LAPE has become part of the international community. Its added value is the entry of the international CIDESCO qualification in the training of beauticians in Latvia, the possibility to obtain information and participate in activities in the European Union( eg in the process of developing a European Standard for Beauty Services) .
• LAPE cooperation with the Latvian Association of Aromatherapy, the Association of Cosmetologists of the Latvian Medical Association, the Latvian Association of Physical Medicine, with educational institutions that educate beauticians. It promotes the growth of competence of practicing professionals, improvement of the level of professional training of future specialists.

• LAPE has developed and is constantly updating the standard of the cosmetics profession;
• The Certification Commission of the Association certifies beauticians of medical personnel;
• LAPE provides training for LAPE members to obtain the status of an eligible medical practitioner;
• LAPE organizes non-formal continuing education events, organizationally ensures the approval of training courses and seminar programs for companies in the field, educational institutions, the Latvian Association of Professional Organizations of Medical Persons( IN THE PATTERNS), LAPE is a member of LĀPPOS.
• LAPE is a permanent Information Page in the magazines of media cooperation partners "Kosmetik Baltikum Professional", "Les Nouvelles Esthetique", "Hair Profesionāļiem" .
• LAPE periodically organizes professional mastery competitions for beauticians.
