About me

I am Māra Purviņa. Creator and manager of Māras Bize.

  • As strands of hair intertwine in a braid, previous experience in psychology, pedagogy and my own nature intertwine in my heart, creating a synergy through which I share with those who come to me in sensory classes and consultations. Thus, in 2019, the path of Mara Bize began.
  • Basic knowledge based on higher education in psychology; practical Montessori pedagogy for preschool children was learned during 3 years of study; i spent 2 years at the Lina PEP of the Center for Family Psychology( emotional first aid) in training, learning both theoretical and practical parent support and counseling skills.
  • Since 2000, I have been working everyday with families who are expecting a baby or are already babysitting, getting to know and raising their children, as well as, I am 3( already a big one) children's( teenager) mom.
  • My way of life and my nature allow me to feel nuanced, to be in contact with people and nature, giving space where the authentic nature of each person can flourish.
  • I create a place and space where both small and large can feel free, open up and use their development potential.
  • Some call me a beacon of light, some call me a harbor of peace. I do not know.. I am simply me and I do my work from the heart. I lead both individual and group lessons. I consult face-to-face and remotely. I lead gathering events.

  • fEEL, KNOW, EXPERIENCE - sensory classes/workshops:

Holistic, harmonious physical and emotional development, enjoying the experience of different sensory materials. An adventure using imagination and all your senses. Creativity, mind and body flexibility training. Cognitive games, movement, rhythmicity and mutual communication are the basis of sensory lessons. In these lessons/workshops we get to know ourselves and the world around us in a more comprehensive way. This contributes to the strengthening of self-confidence, the development of emotional intelligence and emotion regulation. but also to feel. Not only to hear, but to listen. Not just to look, but to see.

  • negotiations, consultations:

I offer face-to-face and remote talks to parents for emotional support during pregnancy and after the birth of a baby. They are a valuable resource for both expectant parents and grandparents, because we are often so overwhelmed with the care of the baby that we forget to take care of ourselves. The mental and physical health of parents, as well as keeping their resources in balance, is one of the most essential components in order to be able to take care of a child with respect and love. However, there are times when we are afraid or shy to discuss some issues with our loved ones. Then listening ears, an open heart and a knowledgeable person outside the usual circle of interlocutors are useful. I also practice working with the body - through movement, through breathing and other methods that allow you to be in contact with your nature. I consult parents on issues related to respectful baby care, development, regulation of emotions, arranging the environment according to the principles of Montessori basic values. the issue of the child's adaptation in kindergarten, school. This is also an area in which I provide consultations and give practical advice to make this time as harmonious as possible for both parents and children.

  • uniting collectives:

I lead sensory/movement workshops for both children and adults. I offer bonding activities for collectives. For more than 20 years, getting to know people of different cultures, ages and professions, I have accumulated rich experience. Working in larger and smaller teams, I have observed the importance of team power. And the strength of the team is in every member! Well-being in a collective starts with each of the people involved. And when there is an opportunity for everyone to spend quality, positive time together, it brings an additional dose of joy and inspiration, increases the achievable results.
